Make It Smurfing Stop!

Let me start by saying I’m sorry for adding to the Anna Nicole Smith media noise. But watching a few seconds of the ceaseless coverage (how can you avoid it?), I’ve been struck by how the news networks seem to run the same 10-15 photos of the woman, delivered via slow-fade montage (something anyone with a Mac can do in 30 seconds with iPhoto). She’s one of the most photographed women in the world — they can’t find a couple of different shots? And what about clips from her train-wreck reality show? Are the nets being “sensitive” to the “tragedy” by not airing them. The E! network would have its biggest ratings ever if they just reran that show 24/7.

If it was up to me, the following clip would be shown in any and all stories related to Anna. Robert Smigel is a comedic genius.
