Blues Heroes Return

Local Blues artists Sonny Moorman and II Juicy are back giggin’ in the ’Nati after competing in the International Blues Challenge, the biggest event going for unsigned Blues acts, in Memphis earlier this month. Moorman competed against 64 other performers from around the world in the “Solo/Duo” category and ultimately came in second place! San Diego’s Nathan James and Ben Hernandez came in first in Moorman’s category. The Juicy ones were up against close to 100 other groups in the “Band” category (Columbus, Ohio’s Sean Carney Band was the big winner). Both II Juicy and Moorman represented the Cincy Blues Society. The performers won the honor of repping Cincy after winning the annual Cincy Blues Challenge last year.

You can say “Congrats” in person to both this weekend. II Juicy plays Putters in West Chester Saturday night. The Sonny Moorman Group plays KC’s Pub in Milford Saturday.
