Remember the good ol’ days when you’d just get in your car, maybe turn on the radio and then head out to your destination, eyes on the road, hands in the 10 and 2 o’clock positions? These days, drivers seem to think they can do everything they’d do in their normal life while behind the wheel — fumble with the satellite radio, watch a DVD, make that urgent phone call to Mom, eat dinner, do your makeup, iron your pants, celebrate that big win over your division rivals.
So it’s weird but absolutely no surprise to hear that purchasers of a new line of cars from Volkswagen will be issued … a new guitar!
The affordable guitar makers First Act are providing the six-stringers, which can be played through the cars’ stereo stystems. So when you’re barreling down the highway and Led Zeppelin comes on the stereo, you don’t have to wait until you get home to practice your Jimmy Page licks any more.
The most important question raised: What will this do to the air guitar industry?
