One of the qualities that I look for in a political candidate is character and honesty. Neither sexual orientation nor religion are a very good predictor of those qualities.

From Margo: “Are things like sexual orientation and religious beliefs really issues of importance when choosing an elected official?”

Yes. If a politician runs on a strong platform regarding sexual orientation and/or their religious leanings, I race screaming to vote for their opponent.

Extremism is my overriding concern…religion, orientation, race, whatever the issue, extremists have lost any sort of balance in their lives and should not be placed in a position of governance or lawmaking.
